Hi, I'm Coy Merry, and I'm so glad you found us!
About a year ago, my wife Kobe, our daughter Marlow, and I packed up and made Morgantown home. It's one of the best decisions we've ever made. From the very beginning, the people of First Baptist welcomed us like family, and getting to pastor this church has been one of the greatest privileges of my life.
I hold a Master of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and am currently working toward a PhD in Christian Missions, but that passion for mission isn't just academic. It shapes the way I think about our church's role in this town and in the world. I believe the local church is one of the most powerful forces for good in any community, and I get to wake up every day and live that out right here in Morgantown.
